On June 10th, 2023 The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry bestowed the prestigious ‘Uttar Banga Ratna’ award upon St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, in recognition of its remarkable 200-year history of excellence in the field of education in India.
During this esteemed occasion, Mr. P. Lepcha, our acting administrator, delivered a speech highlighting the unique challenges faced by the education system in North Bengal. He emphasized the stark disparity in educational infrastructure between North Bengal and other states, shedding light on the pressing need to bridge this gap. Mr. Lepcha particularly addressed the rural-urban divide within the region’s education landscape, emphasizing the importance of implementing transformative measures to provide equal opportunities to rural areas.
