Tenzing Norgay Memorial Open Badminton Tournament

The Tenzing Norgay Memorial Open Badminton Tournament was held at the prestigious Gymkhana Hall in the picturesque town of Darjeeling. This illustrious event boasted a multitude of categories and attracted participants hailing from diverse corners of not only India but also the neighboring countries of Bhutan and Nepal.

Among the spirited competitors were two talented young boys from SPS, Khalid Ferdous, a seventh-grader, and Aditya Dev, eighth grader. These budding badminton enthusiasts fearlessly embraced the challenge presented by the U-15 open division and engaged in thrilling matches against their formidable counterparts from Young Shuttlers Darjeeling and Darjeeling Sports Academy.

In recognition of their exemplary sportsmanship and tenacity on the badminton court, Khalid and Aditya were duly honored with participation certificates and gleaming medals, a testament to their dedication and commendable performance.

We would like to thank Mr S Gurung for grooming these boys for such a prestigious tournament.
